  • From Engagement to Wedding- A journey

The following is a detailed guide that outlines the entire process, from beginning to end, when working with your Telluride Wedding Photographer: Choosing the Photographer When it comes to photographers, there is a wide variety to choose from in any given area. Some are local, while others come from around the world. Additionally, there are various styles of photography to consider, such as bright, dark, light, cinematic, journalistic, and more. To select the best photographer for your needs, it is advisable to start by considering the style you prefer. After that, it is important to take your budget into account. If cost efficiency is a priority, opting for a local photographer might be a favorable choice. Local photographers eliminate the additional expenses of flying, travel, and lodging. Another advantage of choosing a local photographer is their extensive knowledge of the area. 2) The Engagement When it comes to your wedding journey, selecting a photographer for your engagement is a crucial decision. This person plays a vital role in capturing the love and happiness between you and your partner. They are present during your most intimate moments and go the extra mile to find locations that reflect your preferences. Moreover, many wedding photographers offer bundle deals if you choose them for both your engagement and wedding. So why not have the photographer who knows you well and whom you have gotten to know as your wedding photographer? 3) The Wedding Choosing the same photographer for both your engagement and wedding can provide a sense of ease. By spending time with your engagement photographer, they have not only become familiar with your photogenic habits, personality, and style, but you have also become comfortable in front of the camera. This familiarity and trust in your photographer allows you to breathe easy, knowing that you are in great hands. It’s common for people to feel uncomfortable in front of the camera, and this discomfort can often show in the end results. However, when you have the same photographer capturing your wedding, they are already one step ahead, anticipating and capturing your precious moments seamlessly. Your wedding day will fly by quickly, and you won’t have the chance to redo those special moments. That’s why it’s crucial to have a photographer you know and trust, ensuring that those once-in-a-lifetime moments are beautifully captured. Choosing a photographer that is perfect for both of you can be an important decision. Here are some steps to help you in the process: Define your style: Start by determining the style of photography you prefer. Have a look at different photographers’ portfolios to identify the style that resonates with you the most. It could be traditional, candid, artistic, or a combination of styles. Set a budget: Determine how much you are willing to allocate for photography. This will help narrow down your options and ensure you find a photographer who fits within your budget. Research and compare: Look for photographers in your area who specialize in weddings. Check their websites, social media profiles, and online reviews. Pay attention to the consistency and quality of their work. Compare different photographers based on their style, experience, and pricing. Meet or interview potential photographers: Reach out to a few photographers who caught your attention and schedule a meeting or phone call to discuss your expectations. This will help you assess their personality, professionalism, and reliability. Ask about their experience shooting weddings, their approach to capturing moments, and how they handle different lighting situations. Check their portfolio: Request to see full wedding albums or galleries from previous weddings they have shot. This will give you a better idea of the photographer’s storytelling abilities, consistency, and attention to detail. Consider their compatibility: It’s important to feel comfortable and build a rapport with your photographer. Look for someone who not only understands your vision but also makes you feel at ease. You will be spending a significant amount of time together on your wedding day, so it’s crucial to have a good connection. Ask about backup plans: Inquire about the backup equipment and backup photographers the studio has in case of any unforeseen circumstances. You want to ensure that your special day will be captured even if something unexpected happens. Read and understand the contract: Before finalizing your decision, carefully read the contract provided by the photographer. Pay attention to the details regarding deliverables, timelines, cancellation policies, and any additional costs. Remember, choosing the right photographer is an investment in preserving the memories of your special day. Take your time, do your research, and trust your instincts. #christamswedding #tellurideelopementphotographer #photographerintelluride #engagementintelluride #weddingintelluride #tellurideengagementphotographer #telluride #elopementintelluride #coloradowedding #tellurideweddingphotographer #coloradophotographer #telluridephotographer

  • Summer Wedding Tips To Love! :From a Telluride Wedding Photographer

Summer Wildflower Wedding in Telluride, Colorado Summer can be the most popular time for a wedding in Telluride. With warmer weather and snow melting, it opens up the endless locations to make your summer wedding unique. But what are some tips you should know to make your summer wedding personalized and refreshing to you and your guests? 1) Dream your Backdrop! Telluride Photographer Telluride Engagement Photographer Telluride Wedding Photographer Telluride elopement Photographer Telluride Portrait Photographer When you think of your wedding, how do you invison your location? Is it meaningful? Is it scenic? Is it dreamy? Everyone has a different idea of what they want their summer wedding location to look like. If you're looking to get married in Telluride in the summer, you are most likely looking for a scenic backdrop for your perfect day. Most of the time your wedding photographer will have a list of scenic backdrops that they have scouted out. But, we are always excited to shoot at a new location that YOU found special. In the summer (usually late June) you can start to find lots of wildflowers around the area. some places will start to bloom sooner than others. While you may start to find wildflowers, you may also encounter snow on the mountain tops. The magic of summers in Telluride, is every summer is different. When scouting the area, think about the possibilities of the summer you will be getting married. Do you prefer a mountain in the background for a stunning eye catcher? Would you rather be near a waterfall for the moving backdrop with a continuous white noise sound? If you're lucky enough you might even find a scenic backdrop with a little bit of everything. Wherever you decided is the perfect spot for YOU, just remember about your guests and how accessible it is for them. 2)Pick Your Flowers I do not condone actually picking your own flowers unless you have a permit or its on your own property. But what I mean by "pick your flowers" is part of your location. There are so many different wild flowers in Telluride during the summer, some grow in large fields in their own kind, while you may also find a field full of many different variants. Your Telluride photographer will know many different locations that different flowers will grow. If you're having a purple and green themed wedding, you may want to have a beautiful field of lupin behind. Bright yellow sunshine themed, mule ears would be the perfect fit for you. So when thinking of your color theme, think about what flowers grow naturally in that area. Once you have found the right location and color theme for you, ask your florist if they have an option to add that wildflower into your bouquet for an even more unique and special touch. 3) Airy and Comfortable Attire Summers can get very hot in Telluride. When choosing your attire, think airy. You will be in your dress longer than the ceremony and reception. You want to be comfortable and not too constricted on a hot day, especially if it is going to start making you uncomfortable on your special day. One think your Telluride photographer will let you know is the altitude and how serious it can be. Most of your photographers will make sure they have water ready for the couple throughout the day. As our eye is constantly on you, we can start to see when the altitude is affecting you. So when choosing your wedding attire, think about your location as well as the season. Will you be hiking to your venue? If yes, they you may not want anything too constraining. Dream your dress around your location. 4) Fresh Summer Menu One of the most memorable things your guests will remember about your wedding is the menu. Good food is always a plus at any wedding. But how can you up your game for a summer wedding? make it fresh! Have options that will refresh your guests as not only the heat, but the altitude can be hard on them. Fresh fruit salads, refreshing punch, or even a simpler lighter dinning option that won't leave them feeling heavy. This doesn't have to replace the dinning options you are wanting to have, but just having them as an option will leave your guest replenished and ready to dance longer on the dance floor. 5) Personalize your Decor One things couples tend to do when planning their wedding is making everything perfect! sometimes the smaller personalized decor can be more perfect than other ideas that will leave you more stressed trying to create. Guests will fall involve when they start piecing together the your personalized decor to you. One of the most precise pieces I have seen is from my latest bride and groom. Two people who bond over stories, reading is their love language. When shooting at their venue, they had homemade heart garland around the dance floor. When you walked closer to the garland, you notice that they hand made them out of old books. Some of their guests were able to take some of this garland home and will be something everyone will remember. it's always a joy to find the smaller, more sentimental items that helped create your wedding. Summer weddings can be the most creative weddings. They tend to be more personalized. More colorful. So when planning your wedding in Telluride, think about your dream. Think about the feeling of the sun shining on you and your partner. It's easy to feel overwhelmed in the scenery. So don't feel shy to ask your Telluride photographer about some possible ideas. They are ready and happy to find a location that is new, and a great statement your your perfect day. But with these tips and tricks, I'm here to help you go into your engagement photo session more comfortable, and leaving more involve with your fiancé. Tip #1 - What To Wear To Your Engagement Photos? Nothing! Just kidding! But seriously, you don't want to be thinking about your outfit during your photos. You don't want to be uncomfortable and always adjusting it. Here is what you should know about picking your outfit(s). Don't match your fiancé, complement each other. Instead of wearing the same colors, wear colors that are complementary to each other. This will make you look more comfortable, natural and not forced. Match your environment. Think about where you are taking your photos: are you in the mountains, your home, a cafe, an opera house? Think about what you would wear if you were in that environment naturally. Don't let your patterns or colors fight the environment. Sticking to neutral colors is always the best to go when you are unsure. Tans, blush, grey and cream are a great way to fit into most environments. If you are worried about a pattern, try sticking to a texture or even a dress that is fun to move around/toss. Outfits with movement can make for a fun, dramatic and whimsical feel (especially if that's the mood you are wanting to capture) Layers! I can't express this enough. You can get a wide verity of storytelling photos when you can add a scarf, throw a jacket over your shoulder or kiss behind a hat. Even if you don't know if a layer would make a difference, bring it incase your photographer has a fun idea! you may not even need to use it, but it never hurts to have an other option. Here is a great example of how a photographer can give a photo a different look/mood with a change of a jacket. "Nothing could have been done to prevent these small mishaps from taking place—yet none of it actually mattered on the actual day of our wedding.
